  • weight: 21.63 oz
  • size: wide & long
  • length: 84 inches
  • width: shoulder – 58 inches; 42 foot –  inches
  • temperature rating: 10°F
    • My 40°F was a little too light and small for an all purpose bag, so I decided to splurge.
    • I chose EE because their stitching is on the bag along the long way so the down won’t sink to the side. Also they base models require no lead time.
    • I went with the wide & long version so I could cocoon during cold nights.
    • I was aiming for a 20F bag, but decided to just go down to 10F so the bag lasts longer and stay at the insulation level even with down loss with use. I wasn’t to worried about getting hot since the quilt make it easy to open up.
    • I’ve been very happy with it so far through a few backpacking nights out in Wyoming in 2021. However it was a warm June.

  • length: 78 inches (1.98m)
  • width: shoulder – 48 inches (1.22 m); foot – 42 inches
  • temperature rating: 40°F
    • I decided to give a hiking quilt a try for summer and warmer weather hiking since I was always opening up my mummy bags. It served fine here in Virginia in the middle of summer, but it might have been too light for our Canadian Rockies trip in August. I had to make it as close to a mummy bag as possible to stay warm at night. In that regards, I wish I had gotten the long version so I could pull it over my head without my foot going through the bottom. I also felt like the down would clump on the sides of the begs leaving the top less insulated. I wore my fleece or down jacket as an extra layer on a couple of nights. Despite all that, I did stay warm enough so I don’t have much to complain about. I’ve only used it for about a month, so I’ll update as I use this more in the future as this will be my default bag for a while.
